Lya and the giants

Animated Short Film, Personal Project

Every day, I created and shared one animated shot on Instagram. This short film is the compilation of all these little pieces, brought together into one colourful journey.

I wanted to experiment with a different approach to my previous project, creating all the environments digitally in Procreate. The main character was modelled and animated in 3D, creating a contrast between the illustrated backgrounds and the three-dimensional character.

The film follows a young woman setting off on an adventure in search of giants. She travels through a colourful forest, crosses different landscapes and eventually reaches the top of a mountain, where she discovers a giant waiting for her.

I wanted to explore several different atmospheres throughout the film, with vibrant colours and a slightly video game-inspired feeling. The music was an important part of this direction, giving the journey a sense of adventure and discovery.

I created the film from start to finish, including the compositing and final assembly. The music was created by DODODO Studio.

As with the previous project, the film was originally shared one shot per day on Instagram. The final piece brings all these daily experiments together into one continuous adventure.
