Experimentation #04
Personal Project
Two small animation experiments exploring different ways of bringing a hand-painted feeling into digital animation.
The first animation features a young girl sitting in profile, gently swinging her feet. There is something slightly mysterious and quiet about the scene. I initially animated it entirely in Photoshop, but wanted to give the final result a more handmade quality.
I printed every frame of the animation and painted them individually with watercolour. I then scanned each frame and replaced them in the original Photoshop animation, carefully positioning each one and keeping the exact order of the sequence. This process gave the animation a much more tactile and traditional feel, while keeping the movement of the original digital animation.

The second animation is a simpler experiment: a small pink flower slowly turning in place. Animated in Photoshop, it was an opportunity to explore a softer and more playful mood, with delicate colours and gentle movement.
Both experiments are part of my ongoing exploration of combining traditional painting with animation.
